A year ago, we took Missy in as a foster from a really rough situation — overweight, unfit, terrified of people approaching her in the dark, and showing clear signs of having been bred far too much, too young. We didn't know if we'd be able to keep her long-term, but we knew she needed help, so we said yes.

A year on, she's unrecognisable. She's fit, healthy, confident, and one of the sweetest, most gentle dogs you'll ever meet — especially with kids. She's playful, food and toy motivated, loves a game of tug-of-war, and genuinely loves people. Strangers who stop to say hello win her over in seconds.

Why we're looking for a new home for her:
Missy has a very high prey drive and is incredibly intelligent — she needs a secure, fully fenced yard (no gaps, no weak points) and ideally no easy access for local wildlife. Once she settled in her rotti guard dog instincts set in and she would bark to deter anything passing by the home. She doesn't bark excessively though.

She would also do best as an only dog; she's generally not aggressive with other big dogs, but doesn't seem to love little dogs. In a two-dog household she has developed pack behaviour that has made it impossible to train out of either dog while they are together.

She'd thrive in a home where she can mostly indoors as part of the family, with a securely fenced yard to match her intelligence.
