LOVING FOREVER HOME NEEDED š¾
This is an incredibly difficult post for us to make, but we are looking for the right new home for our 5 and a half year old Bull Arab x Mastiff, Loki.
He is a beautiful, goofy and loving boy with so many great qualities. He is desexed, indoor/house trained and crate trained, has fantastic name recall and absolutely LOVES playing fetch.
He is also a massive water baby. Take him to the beach, shell pool or somewhere to splash around and heās in his element. He tends to bond better with women and is definitely a much bigger fan of females than males.
He does have an old ear haematoma which has left him with a permanent cauliflower ear. It just adds a little character to his face and doesnāt bother him.
Unfortunately, we do need to be completely transparent about why weāre looking for a new home.
Earlier this year, there was an incident where he was involved in killing one of my mumās cats. We donāt know what triggered the incident or exactly what happened leading up to it, and because of that we cannot confidently say that he is safe around cats or other small animals. He has grown up around cats and other small dogs and doesnāt chase them however we just donāt know what exactly triggered it and for this reason, he ideally needs to go to a cat-free/small-animal-free home.
Since the incident, both my partner and I have struggled to move past what happened and have unintentionally become very distant from him. His physical needs are being met, but weāve had to acknowledge that heās no longer receiving anywhere near the amount of love, attention and interaction that he deserves. Keeping him purely because we feel guilty about rehoming him isnāt fair to him.
We also currently have a child under two and are very shortly welcoming our second baby. With our family about to become even busier, weād really love to find him the right home sooner rather than later so that he can settle in and start receiving the attention he deserves again.
Weāve contacted multiple rescue organisations, but unfortunately with the current surrender situation they simply donāt have the capacity. So weāre hoping we can find his person ourselves.
š” His ideal home would have:
⢠Ideally no cats or small animals
⢠Ideally a female dominated home
⢠Secure fencing
⢠Someone experienced and confident with large, strong dogs
⢠Plenty of love, attention and companionship
⢠Someone who can keep up with his physical needs (walking, playing ect).
⢠Bonus points for a shell pool or living close to the beach!
We are not looking to simply get rid of him, and he wonāt be going to the first person who asks. We want to make sure wherever he goes is safe, suitable and hopefully his forever home.
Weāre happy to be completely open about his history, personality and routine and answer any questions honestly.
He really does deserve to be someoneās much-loved dog again. š¤
