Meet Riven - a mature aged bone mouth shar pei x kelpie that would be excellent for a young family or someone seeking loyal canine companionship.
She is a low maintenance dog that loves people and food. She just wants to be near you and being petted. She always welcomes you happily when you come home or are bringing her dinner.
Demonstrably excellent with children of all ages. Is a real socialite with visitors.
Incredibly food oriented, so will be effortless to build rapport with.
She has good levels of obedience, and knows a bunch of tricks such as beg and roll over and going through legs.
We have had her with medium and large dogs, and she behaved well. Was respectfully accepting and/or defending her dominance without fighting. However, we suspect she has had a bad experience with a small dog, so best advised not to with a small dog.
She has always d in a medium yard, and has never dug or challenged the fence. She has an acceptable amount of barking, and is obedient if shushed.
She is ok on the lead - she does pull somewhat, and may lunge at dogs. She has never attacked a dog.
We rescued her in 2019, her estimated age was 4 years, making her 10 years old in 2026. Her breed is estimated. She has showed no signs of slowing down and is healthy and athletic.
She is a bit defensive with high value food, but that is not unusual. She had her tail slightly docked due to an injury at the rescue shelter, which has left some patchiness. May chase her tail at times.
She is happy as an outside dog, but is very pleased to be inside. She loves car rides.
Has been microchipped and registered, but for the life of me cannot find the papers and the vet has since closed down
Overall, we're seeking someone who is able to give her the attention she desires, as due to our changing life circumstances, we are unable to prioritise Riven as much as we used to.
We are not in a rush to rehome her, and will wait for the right person to give her on to.
