Olive ❤️
It is with a very heavy heart that we are looking to rehome our dog O, as we will be moving back to Canada in approximately 6 weeks due to unforeseen family issues and we are unable to take her with us.
O is a 2-year-old Cane Corso cross, around 40kg, and truly embodies the nature of a guardian breed—strong, loyal, and naturally protective of her people. We adopted her when she was about 6 months old and have loved having her as a part of our family.
O is:
- Extremely loving and affectionate and wiggly
- Quite lazy and relaxed indoors
- A “shadow dog” who will follow you everywhere and just likes to be in the same room
- Very sweet and people-friendly once she knows you (she can be a bit timid at first)
- Highly trainable and intelligent (knows sit, stay, wait & take, safety, place, paw)
- Is desexed and microchipped
O does have a few important needs that her next home must understand:
- We do not believe she is suited to a home with other dogs - while she mostly ignores other dogs on walks, she can be overly playful and confrontational when off leash.
- She is a large, powerful dog, so she needs confident handling (she wears a halti usually and does not pull when she wears it)
-She can be protective, which is part of her guardian nature. She hardly barks but if she does it will be because someone has knocked on the door
- She has a sensitive stomach and skin, so her diet has always been a bit restrictive (no random treats from the pet shop or human food)
We are a young couple and think a similar arrangement would work very well for O. We’ve had people pet sit her for a couple of weeks and she adjusted very well and fell in love with the sitter right away.
She likes walks, but is a bit nervous with the lime scooters and loud cars so she would be so excited to have a yard to have zoomies in and play tag.
She is genuinely a beautiful, affectionate girl who loves human company and will happily curl up next to you for cuddles.
We are not rehoming her out of choice but necessity and need to ensure she goes to a safe, stable, and experienced home where she will be understood and cared for properly. We are happy to accommodate potential adopters in any way, including:
Driving her to you to meet and greet, providing a decent supply of her food and all her bits (toy, bed, etc.), providing her entire medical history (she has been to the clinic very recently and is very fit), and ongoing communication if an adopter had any questions going forward.
If you think you may be the right fit for O, please reach out and tell us a bit about yourself, your experience with large breeds, and the home you can offer. She truly is a gem.
