Schnitty
It is with extreme sadness that I have to make this post 😔
We have a beautiful boy, Schnitty — a dachshund x Maltese (with a bit of Jack Russell spirit, we’re sure). He’s only 3.5 years young and has brought so much love and laughter into our home.
Since bringing our baby home, things have sadly changed between our two dogs. We’ve spent the last 6 months trying absolutely everything — training, separation, slow introduction, medication — but nothing has eased the tension.
We’re now at a point where we have to accept that we’ve run out of options.
We adopted Schnitty when he was 9 months old from friends of friends who could no longer keep him due to moving.
About Schnitty:
He loves food as well as bath time and showers. He gives the most beautiful cuddles on the couch where he tucks himself right into your neck. He’s smart, cheeky and knows exactly how to work his puppy dog eyes.
He adores people. He truly wants nothing more than to be close to his humans. But due to some past trauma before coming to us, he can be reactive to other dogs and very protective of his family. His anxiety can show up as aggression, but when spoken to gently, he always softens and comes in for comfort — he just needs patience and reassurance.
We are not in any rush to rehome him. Our only priority is finding the perfect home where he can feel safe, secure and loved.

He would be best suited in a home with no other dogs, with someone confident on the lead and willing to continue the progress we’ve already made.
After many conversations and tears, my husband and I have had to make the difficult decision to rehome our boy. This isn’t something we ever imagined doing, and our hearts are absolutely shattered — but we have to do what’s best for him, our other dog, and our baby.
If you think you may be the right person or family for Schnitty, or know someone who might be, please reach out. We just want him to have the loving, peaceful home he deserves 🤎
